The Fort Ridgely historic site is now under a contract between the Minnesota Historical Society and the Nicollet County Historical Society.

NCHS administers a number of historical sites in Nicollet County. Along with Fort Ridgely, the Harkin Store, and the E. St. Julien Cox House, NCHS operates the Treaty Site History Center located on the northern edge of St. Peter, Minnesota.
